1992 Yeti Ultimate build update #2

Finally got around to doing what I call a "Shake Down" build on the 1992 Yeti Ultimate. This is where I attempt to put the bike together to complete the parts kit, before I start fussing with cleaning and restoring individual parts. It allows me to make sure I have everything I need to complete a project and identify the areas that need improvement. So, not all the parts are final, most will be cleaned or touched up some more and in some cases swapped out for nicer or more appropriate ones.

Headset : Sent a black no-logo headset to Chris King for a rebuild, turns out they replaced one of the cups with a logo version, DAMN! Shifters : I'm running low on XT thumbies as is, so have to make the best set I have from 3-4 pairs. Found two nice sets of perches. Of course all of the bolts were ugly and mismatched, so had to raid old Rapid Fire shifters for nice bolts and barrel adjusters. OK. Found two nice levers but misplaced the left one somewhere while working on the perches. FVCK! Can't find it for the life of me. Move on. Brakes : got a nice set of black M730 cantilevers and M732 levers, things came together pretty well here. Just need to clean the brakes, check the pads, polish the straddle cable and tweak the routing. Wheels : wanted to run Bullseye on this bike, but the hubs and rims are not matching up nicely, may have to think some more about this. Cranks : No issues here, just wish I had some black Cook cranks instead of the polished ones!!

Still a lot of work to do, but it's starting to look like a real bike now!
